Iron Chefs!

The Food Justice House was reppin' at Oxy's Iron Chef Competition today in the quad to celebrate Earth Day pulling in with a strong second place finish!

We made a lightly sauteed spinach salad with shredded turnips and beets accompanied with two thick slices of blood orange and beet topped off with a sprinkle of minced mint.  Our dish also featured open faced Texas toast, a pan fried bread sandwich with rice, sauteed spinach and chard.  The plate was grounded by a broccoli, almond taco garnished with thin slices of red onion, fried turnip, and avocado. We even fried up a few pink chips on the side for fun!

Thanks Well-Fed and South Central Farm for such an awesome event!
